Arlette Schijns speaker at symposium ‘Compensation for crime damage’ on Sept. 24, 2019

On September 24 next, Erasmus School of Law (in cooperation with the Ministry of Security and the Damage Fund for Violent Crimes) is organizing the symposium ‘Compensation of crime damage - solidarity, insurance, redress. Who bears what damage and who should bear what damage are questions that will be discussed during the symposium. The aim of the symposium is to highlight this topic from different perspectives. Arlette Schijns previously published about the possibility of compensating crime damage through the offender's insurer. She also conducted research on first party insurance as a compensation mechanism for crime damage. See also her article in TVP.
