Court ruling on attack on Amsterdam Central Station

The Amsterdam Court of Appeal on November 16, 2020 Jawed S. sentenced to 25 years in prison without parole for stabbing two American tourists at Amsterdam Central Station on Aug. 31, 2018. He must also pay damages to the victims.

To the victim who suffered a spinal cord injury, Jawed S. must pay an amount of nearly €3,000,000, including €230,000 in damages. In both the amount of the punishment and the compensation, the court took into account the serious consequences of the attack for both the victims and society.

Two years after the fact, the victims are still experiencing daily the pain and severe disabilities resulting from the terrorist crime. The impact the attack (had) on society is also great.
